Sublimation Printing

Sublimation printing is the process of producing an image onto products that have a specially prepared polymer based surface. First the image, usually a photograph, is scanned into a computer where any necessary corrections to colours, brightness, contrast and proportions are made.  The subject is also reversed at this stage to produce a mirror image of the original. The prepared design is then printed using sublimation dyes onto special transfer papers and heat applied to appropriate products such as coasters, placemats, T-shirts, pennants, etc., using a heat press.  This process produces photo-realistic images that are durable and on fabrics, images that can washed without cracking or fading.
