Graphics and text sized to fit on the left or right side of the chest are normally digitised free of charge. We do however reserve the right to make an additional charge for this service if:
We will be pleased to provide estimates for digitizing and any additional set-up costs in such instances. To achieve the best result it is important that we are able to study the graphic on which the design will be based and understand the properties of the host fabric before confirming a price for custom embroidery work. Artwork can be sent to us by email as well as by conventional mail and can range from a simple sketch to a full colour photograph. We accept most electronic formats including JPEG, bitmap, GIF and PDF.
As we do not offer an original artwork design service, artwork submitted for digitising must contain sufficient detail to allow a custom embroidery pattern to be created from it.

About Digitising |
|||||||||||||||
|
Embroidery digitising is the process of translating artwork into a set of instructions that an embroidery machine can understand. We extract an image from a suitable medium such as a photograph or electronic file and then using dedicated embroidery design software, create a pattern from that image. The embroidery design is then tested on the machine by stitching onto a garment or other appropriate material.
Many factors influence the appearance of the final embroidery including the style, direction and density of the stitches as well as the weave and composition of the fabric. For example, a pattern created for a pique polo shirt will not necessarily embroider onto a sweatshirt, fleece or badge felt without adjustment. For this reason we use software that gives full control over the stitch properties.
Caps can also present a challenge because the limited embroidery area means that some graphic detail may need to be lost without affecting the fidelity of the design. To ensure a high level of embroidered product quality, we digitize specifically for caps and do not re-use a pattern created for other products.
Digitising is the first and most important part of the Embroidery Design process |
